Sadie is a buyer and seller of curses, trinkets, blessings, and boons. Rumors on the street point to her as the person to approach if you need a wish granted, though they rarely turn out the way they're imagined. Everything at a cost.
Power-wise, she can call in favors from the local monsters or use the trinkets and tools in her possession. She has deals with Yearning, Avidity, and Instability, granting her potent double edged swords for each that are typically used for magical diagnostics and treatment, but which can be weaponized as well.
Sadie is designed to be Pactverse Adjacent, from the [Pact](pactwebserial.wordpress.com)and [Pale](palewebserial.wordpress.com) web serials. Reading these is not required, but there are a three big points of interest.
They Cannot Lie: Supernatural entities bound by the Seal of Solomon (most of them) cannot lie, and neither can those who can practice magic. It's part of the oath that is sworn at the outset. White lies result in a hit to power, control, or reach while a broken oath can and will destroy someone. Be warned that "no lying" does not mean no deceiving, and lies by omission or half-truths are a common threat.
Soft Magic: The magic of the setting is soft magic and is performed by appealing to the spirits and karma. Magic rituals becomes more potent with complexity, repetition, and thematic value. A simple chalk circle is not as good as an ornate series of circles and diagrams with script written in silver nitrate along the edges. All other things kept equal, the rituals of a god's cult that's been passed down by centuries will have more power and reliability than a prayer improvised on the spot. A spell cast to contact a ghost will be more likely to succeed if the caster has one of the ghost's personal possessions; even moreso if there are 3, 7, or 13 objects to draw from or if it's important to the ghost (their wedding band vs a sock).
Innocence: Those uninvolved with the supernatural have a tendency to "explain away" supernatural occurrences. It was a trick of the light, they must have been hearing things, that was just a very large wolf, etc. Magic becomes limited around them to make exposing them more difficult. If they do become Aware of the supernatural, those who caused that awareness hold a sort of karmic responsibility for them. If they do something foolish and doom themselves, that doom will naturally seek out their so-called patron after it's done with them. Those who are Aware sometimes have unique traits, talents, or quirks.
