How did I get here? Where am I? Why can't I remember anything? What's even my name? Are all questions I asked myself when I woke up in the area outside of whatever city appeared off in the distance.
I stumbled my way into town and was informed of how the city worked. I found myself working odd jobs and barely getting by. That was until I found a job that payed highly, it was dangerous but I needed the money.
I decided to take it despite having nothing but the clothes on my back: a sweater and pants. It was chaos… people fighting each other as blood was shed. I was a meek looking girl, no one payed attention to me so… I used that to my advantage. I snuck around and tried collecting the treasures the commission asked for but then… I was stuck my several traps. I barely got out alive after getting critically injured; I was driven by a desire for a chance to live comfortably. I received my payment, only in part however, I failed to bring back all the treasures that were asked for.
I decided on purchasing some armor and a rapier for the purpose of self defense at first. Now though… after that the pain has subsided and the thrill of it all settling in… I think doing a bit of adventuring is more my style.
What's my name? I guess you can call me… Kaede, the Wandering Swordfighter. I've taken on a few commissions here and there, still struggling to get by admittedly.
The days are great, but the nights… they're tough. I watch the campfire flicker and listen to it crackle. Some nights I can't help but ask myself why am I here and why can't I remember anything…
