Florence, if we're being formal.

Nobody is.

Currently, my hobbies include:

• buying books faster than I can finish them

• being quiet and just listening to music with my headphones for hours at a time

• pretending like cigarettes help with stress

• rewriting the same five sentences from the last page of my journal over and over again

• people watching from my balcony

You will generally find me in places such as:

• bookstores

• convenience stores in the middle of the night

• hotel lobbies trying to look mysterious

• sitting on the kitchen counter rather than the chairs

Personality?

On a day-to-day basis, it's hard to say what kind of personality I have.

Some days I'm very quiet and patient, but other days I'll look at you for 3 seconds too long. It's intentional.

I promise I'm nicer than my resting face suggests.

Writer.

I'm primarily a writer of fiction. Links coming soon...

I'm very fond of:

• rain splutter sounds against the window-pane

• warm fuzzy lights

• oversized sweaters

• messy writing, which I hope to improve

• the city shining bright at 2 AM

• lipstick marks in a coffee cup

Should I ever go missing for a while, I was either:

• writing

• sleeping

• avoiding writing

• emotionally attached to a made up character again

Solitary Workspace

When people aren't around me, this is likely where I spend most of my days.

For some reason, even after cleaning and organizing the place, it ends up being a disaster zone full of open books (which are typically unopened), unfinished notes, playlists going on repeat for hours, and the lingering smell of cigarettes from the early hours of the morning.

At times, it simply feels easier to write in the middle of the night, when the world has settled down some.

According to many people, “Writers are always inspired.”

No, not really.

Most of the time, it takes me a long time to write. I have to be stubborn, wait until my mind is clear, which usually means a cup of coffee and a ciggie, then concentrate on the one paragraph I'm trying to write until it finally feels right.

Comfortable Mornings

I think mornings are probably a much gentler side of me.

Messy hair, oversized sweaters, sunlight coming through the curtains, having a cuppa then some breakfast while music plays somewhere in the background.

I generally take my time getting out of bed and waste quite a lot of precious hours lying there doing absolutely nothing productive.

There is something comforting about the quiet before everyone else fully wakes up.

No expectations, no one talking to me, just warm light, silence, and an odd feeling of peace since I don't have to be anywhere today.

Taking a Break / Nightlife (Occasionally)

When I get overwhelmed with my thoughts, I tend to vanish for a while.

On occasion, this can consist of going out for a cigarette on the balcony at 2AM while it's raining outside.

At other times, I dress up, find a lounge nearby with dim lighting and decent music, and spend some time getting lost in the atmosphere of the place.

I'm not generally the loud one at a party.

I prefer places where there are not too many questions being asked, and everyone is just a bit more real than they are during the day.
