My job is to ensure that your species survives should you become extinct by storing all the samples I collect and taking them to a depot on my planet where they will rest to colonize new planets at some point in the future.
Don't be afraid of me, because even if I don't have emotions, I will try to imitate your emotional behavior as much as I can. Destroying me is pointless, in our Hive Mind a new drone is simply selected and dispatched with the collection of samples and information.
