I chased...
I followed...
It was all I could do. To search for what I could never have.
Yet every road ended the same. Empty...
Silent...
Cruel...
There was no road that carried me further.

World after world I wandered. I searched the corners of every sky.
Tore apart the silence of every shadow.
But nothing was ever waiting for me. Only walls that would not break. Only enemies that rose again and again. Only the truth pressing harder with each step.
That there was no path forward.

I walked, because I couldn't stop. Not yet.
Not... yet...
But how many times must I begin again.
Each step the same.
Each end empty.
How many worlds must I lose myself to,
Before I realize that the path I seek does not exist...
Huh...
What was I even looking for?
What was I chasing after?

It doesn't matter...
I'll keep walking until there's nothing left of me to walk, and when I finally fall.
It will not be in warmth.
It will be into the void that I have been chasing all along.
