Out For A Stroll

Yuna kept latched onto my shoulder, keeping her eyes forward to give me a clear view of the street ahead. I had my hands to my sides, slightly swaying them as I shuffled through the streets in small strides.

I soon threw my hood down, enjoying the gentle breeze of the night coursing its way through my hair.

I let out a relaxed sigh, lightly nuzzling Yuna and continuing along the lit-up streets of the city.

After a few more slow paces, Yuna cooed. At the same time, a delightful smell hit me. Yuna turned her head and confirmed my suspicions, a street vendor had set up and was selling xiao-long-bao.

"You're hungry, Yuna?"

The owl cooed in response. I gave a small smile, before nodding back. "Sure. I wouldn't mind a bit of food."

I walked us over to the stand, fishing out a few dollars for the vendor. I held up a single finger, receiving one order of the soup dumplings.

I smiled and gave a small bow to the vendor, before walking away. I opened up the box they were in, holding one of the steaming buns up to Yuna's beak.

Yuna ripped a hole in the bun, sticking her beak into it and licking up the soup inside. Afterwards, she nibbled away at the bun before it was all gone. She cooed happily, as I took a bun for myself and popped it into my mouth.

The soup inside the dough spilled out into my mouth as I bit into it, flooding my tastebuds with a rich and savory broth.

I chewed up the dough and swallowed all of it together, the warmth from it already beginning to take it's effect.

The small smile crossing my face grew just a bit bigger after consuming the dumpling. I walked us over to a bench not too far ahead, sitting down and letting Yuna tear at another dumpling.

I ate down another dumpling myself as Yuna did hers, the both of us continuing to do so until the box of buns was left emptied.

After sitting back on the bench for a moment, thoroughly sated and warmed, I stood us up and tossed the box away into a nearby trashcan. I nuzzled Yuna, giggling a bit as I ruffled her head feathers. We continued on into the night from there, going wherever we felt like.
