"I suppose I was around fifteen when I did it for the first time. It was like a muscle that only some people have. That roaring sound some people can make in their ears, the rare double jointed person, the different ways people might recept taste. Just conscious control over certain bodily functions some people had and some didn't. Except for me it wasn't that simple. It was snippets of thoughts, little excerpts of sentences that overlapped with mine in passing. Once I figured it out, how could I not experiment?"

"I would ask simple questions, yes or no answers. Those were short enough to allow me to hear the full response. And I certainly could, I could hear them thinking yes or no before I could hear them say it... A gift to be sure, I was a budding telepath."

"The obvious decision was to train this muscle, so I did. I kept using it over and over. Reading minds till I had splitting headaches from doing it so often, but it worked. I could soon gather sentences, paragraphs, whole conversations. Eventually it became memories. By the time I was in my twenties I could read thoughts that weren't even at the front of someone's mind. Perhaps they were struggling with a decision and I'd be able to view their memory of breakfast two weeks prior. It didn't have to be something prevalent in the moment anymore."

"But, I couldn't accept that as a limit, could I? Nono, of course not..."

You can't see it, he's inches from you and its much too blurry, as if looking through a filter at a censor bar.

"You wanted to know where all the missing women went, and yet you decided to investigate alone, so foolishly? I will commend you, you got closer than most... I'll have to have a chat with ########### about this... he should be doing better... But."

The man stands back up straight.

"I can't let you just walk away after all of this..."

There's a long huff, and all you can catch is the man's bloodred eyes as he relaxes his body. Presumably the muscle tenses once more, and that is why he has such a strong control over your senses.

"You have tasted death now, hanging over the cliff face... But, you are a rather beautiful woman yourself. So, you could certainly disappear too... Either works for me... So I will let you choose."

(Telepath: Cogito is a step above the best in terms of his gift for telepathy. He blocks out other telepaths [and is immune to hypno], circumvents the conscious and unconscious blocking of his ability [It would be lovely if whoever Cogito is roleplaying with in dm or a game roleplay would include their thoughts to play this out, not necessarily every action. But the important ones], and has built up a resistance to traps set in the minds of those he peers into.)

(Foresight: Cogito can see briefly into the future. During play, this is used to guarantee a cum test or edge the opponent by scanning possible futures to see what works and what doesn’t.)
(Test success, victim cums as normal. Cogito may guarantee this once a game)
(Test fail, Cogito decided to edge, tease, and torment… the sheer stimulation makes the opponent skip one d3, twice a game)

(Master of the Mind: Cogito is unrivaled in the mind, and as such his hypnosis is much more potent than the average. Only a six may break his control.)
