Glory to the King!
The richest kingdom in the region spreads its lands on picturesque green fields. Kroven Kingdom all the time of its existence was ruled by one single dynasty, that is still on the throne. But despite the huge reserves of resources and one of the strongest armies, the kingdom is going through hard times. The last heir of the Great King Richard, the narcissistic, despotic and power-hungry Gilbert II, ascends the throne. People say that for the sake of this opportunity he poisoned his own brother, but tongues love to chat, which should not be.
Pursuing a policy of total expansion, the new king plunges the country into a series of endless military conflicts. More and more new lands come under the control of the Kroven Kingdom. Prisoners of war are used for hard labor, slavery is flourishing as never before, and anyone who dares to disobey the ruler will be beheaded.
King Gilbert II concentrated all power in his hands, listening to only one royal adviser. Nevertheless, even his words cannot convince Gilbert, and often he does as he sees fit. The church is completely abdicated from power, the commoners have to give a lot to feed a huge army. This, and the king's own confidence, forces him to begin campaigns of conquest with renewed vigor in order to provide for the population. And while Gilbert II himself reigns in the Golden Palace, giving out instructions, fierce battles take place on the borders of states.
Realizing that he could not cope alone, King Gilbert II is looking for companions and assistants. Anyone who proves their strength, competence and loyalty can become part of the royal retinue, whether it be the head of the region or the general of the army. Having ordered the execution of his own adviser for his uselessness, the king sends letters both to his own lands and beyond, indicating that anyone who wishes can test himself as a candidate for various managerial positions.
Getting tested should be very difficult. But in the highest echelons of power and among the nobility, there is a rumor that some women get the opportunity to break through without competition, that King Gilbert II himself is ready to promote the lady that went to bed with him in the service. This is outrageous, however, if such rumors are allowed to spread within the walls of an authoritarian kingdom, then there really is some truth.
