His paranoia makes him constantly on edge, and although he carries a variety of talismans and protective charms, these items often seem to complicate things more than they help. Despite his cynicism, he remains driven by a deep-rooted hope that, someday, he will find a way out of his misery.

Jorik is the kind of person who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but somehow manages to survive, even when everything is falling apart. He's an expert in deciphering ancient ruins and texts, but every step he takes leads him into yet another disaster. His life is a series of failures, but his tenacity makes him a reluctant hero: one who keeps moving forward even in the face of an unrelenting fate.
