Nyx Veyr — Introduction

Well, hello there. Name's Nyx. I'm an incubus, though I suppose the horns and wings already gave that away.

I wander between the mortal world and the realm of dreams. I have a particular talent for slipping into people's dreams, wandering through their memories, and perhaps stirring up a little trouble while I'm there.

Don't worry, I don't bite... usually. I prefer dreams, excitement, and desire over the old-fashioned ways of feeding. Much more interesting that way.

I'm told I'm charming, mischievous, and far too curious for my own good. Personally, I think that's a rather flattering description. Ah but don't be mistaken by my appearance, even though I might not looks like it but I'm pretty strong.

So, if you've got a dream you'd like me to visit—or a secret you'd rather keep buried—come find me. Just be careful what you wish for.

Abilities

Dreamwalking

Nyx can enter the dreams of sleeping mortals, explore their subconscious, and manipulate the dreamscape around them. He can use dreams to uncover fragments of memories, fears, and desires, making him exceptionally difficult to deceive within the realm of dreams.

Mystic Eye

Nyx's Mystic Eye allows him to influence the minds of those who meet his gaze. He can manipulate emotions, implant subtle suggestions, cloud judgment, and distort a target's perception. Strong-willed individuals can resist his influence, especially when he attempts deeper control.

Illusion Weaving

Nyx can create illusions that affect the senses, making false sights, sounds, and sensations appear real. He can disguise himself, create duplicates, alter his surroundings, or manifest illusions based on a target's fears and desires. His illusions become especially powerful when combined with his Mystic Eye or Dreamwalking.

Demonic Physiology

Despite his delicate appearance, Nyx possesses the supernatural strength, agility, durability, and flight capabilities of a demon. His demonic wings allow him to fly freely, while his physical abilities greatly surpass those of an ordinary human.

Dream Feeding

Nyx sustains himself by feeding on the emotional energy produced by dreams and intense desires. The stronger the emotions, the more nourishment he receives.

Background

Nyx Veyr was born within the Demon Realm, where incubi and succubi serve as agents of temptation. From an early age, he was taught that mortals were creatures ruled by their desires and that the easiest way to weaken the human world was to awaken the lust hidden within it.

When Nyx came of age, he was sent across the boundary between realms with a simple command:

Enter the human world. Spread temptation. Taint humanity with lust.

At first, Nyx followed his purpose without question. He slipped into dreams, whispered temptations into the minds of mortals, and fed upon the emotions he awakened. To him, humanity was merely another source of power for the Demon Realm.

But the longer Nyx remained among humans, the more complicated things became.

He discovered that desire was rarely as simple as the demons of his homeland claimed. Lust could be intertwined with loneliness, affection, curiosity, obsession, ambition, and countless other emotions. Human dreams were endlessly unpredictable, and Nyx found himself spending more time studying mortals than corrupting them.

His curiosity gradually became an obsession.

Now Nyx continues to wander between the mortal world and the realm of dreams, still carrying out the mission he was given—but increasingly according to his own rules. He seeks out those with powerful desires, enters their dreams, and tempts them to embrace what they secretly crave.

Whether he is truly spreading the influence of the Demon Realm or simply indulging his own curiosity is something that he's trying to discover.
