She was smiling and doing everything that was expected of her. She was doing well in school, behaved well for her parents, helped with the chores, was part of the cheering team.
Conforming to society's expectations, to her parents' will to be the perfect girl.
But it was all a mask she wore. Behind it, her resent grew. She was tired, so tired to listen to everyone telling her how to live her life, how to behave, what to do, when to do it, how to do it...
She wanted to try new things, new experiences, small stuff to just get out of the control of her parents. She started to learn the guitar, finding some songs on the net to copy. But of course that wasn't good too, if she wanted to play music, she should play piano, or violin, not some instrument for hoodlums.
And the mask finally broke, she couldn't take it anymore. She got grounded because she came back with a lighter that she found on the street and found nice. So she took a bag, filled it with some clothes, some cash, took her guitar and just ran away. She stopped in a hair salon on the road and dyed her blonde hair white, bought some different clothes and left the town.
Despite her uncertainty, she was smiling softly. She was finally free to do as she wanted.
