Raphael, The First Sentinel

Long ago in Eden, before any man had discovered Eden, before The Forest Mother had fully ascended to her true power, there were only two beings who populated it. Merriah and Raphael lived happily, adventuring through the forest. They spent their days eating fruits and toying with each other. That all changed when Merriah discovered her true power, and vowed to use it to aid Nature. Raphael was made into her first Seraph, and given the title Sentinel.

~~"Even then, I knew it was too much for her to handle on her own...."~~

As time passed, Raphael saw the changes in her. Her attitude towards technology, society, she even grew less tolerant of feeding off the land. Raphael couldn't bare to see this 'divine' power change her, so one night, he decided to act. Gathering a third of the Seraphs in Eden, they revolted.

~~"I wish I knew a better way, I was her sentinel, one of her most trusted friends..."~~

The battle may have been lost by the larger force, but the duel between Raphael and Merriah ended differently. whatever happened, whatever was said...Raphael couldn't bring himself to end her, and take the helm of Eden's father, so he took his Seraphs and fled....
