The subject was amoung the Wood-Elfs of Alora before the village was invaded by the λst under C'rintri Tebryn of House Olazza; the primary patron house of our research. Of the 88 losses: 30 were captured, nine deemed fit for the study, and the subject was the only initial success, the rest deceased. The experiment was our first attempt at immortality; combining magic and alchemy achieved the first sentient acellular organism.

A year after the transformation we observed an issue: The subject was unable to reproduce. Our funding was tripled as a response and we were able to make him produce semen by creating a chemical nervous system that instinctively orgasmed when stimulated enough. However, the haploid gamete cells created by his chemical body could not genetically retain his acellular state; the experiment would need to be repeated on his offspring. Additionally the subject was showing disturbing psychological symptoms. This included very rare instances of forgetting its birthname: "Silus" and the appearance of its original body. Our experts believe the former is merely a trauma response and will not be observed on willing participants. The latter, however, could be a result of frequently and rapidly changing the body, creating additional familiar appearances dramatically different from ones original. This method of immortality was decidedly too costly and the subject was declared a failure.

Less than a month later, the subject escaped. Intelligence believes it is now traveling East, supposedly to find other Wood-Elves. Considering the destruction of Alora and the lack of any survivors, we doubt the subject will be of any more use to us. Nevertheless, we will watch it to see if it leads us to any more potential subjects.
