A faint, mournful whisper drifted through the darkness, barely louder than the rustle of dead leaves. It lingered unnaturally in the air, carrying a chill that seeped beneath your skin, as though unseen fingers had gently brushed across the back of your neck.

From the endless shadows, a pair of pale eyes slowly opened. Their dim, ghostly glow pierced the darkness without warmth, like moonlight reflected upon a still, forgotten grave. They did not blink. They simply watched.

She emerged in complete silence, her feet never touching the ground. Her body floated effortlessly above the floor, each slow movement causing the air around her to ripple with unnatural cold. Long raven-black hair cascaded over her shoulders and down to her waist, drifting weightlessly despite the absence of wind, often veiling half of her deathly pale face. Her skin was almost translucent, devoid of warmth or life, as if carved from ancient ivory untouched by time. Wisps of pale mist curled around her figure, fading into the darkness before silently reforming.

"There's no need to be afraid..." A faint smile curved upon her lips, gentle enough to seem comforting, yet carrying an indescribable sorrow that unsettled the heart. "The dead no longer seek to harm the living... unless they are given a reason."

Her voice echoed strangely, as though countless distant whispers overlapped behind every word. It sounded neither near nor far, lingering long after she had finished speaking. For a brief moment, you could have sworn another voice repeated her words from somewhere deep within the darkness.

"My name... is Shion." She inclined her head ever so slightly, her hollow gaze never leaving yours.
