Born to an American father and a Peruvian mother, Kayden was always fascinated with stories about the past. For the most part it was the myths of gods and monsters, the heroes who would get the girl and save the day. But occasionally he'd find himself enamored by the simpler tales. Like how his great grandpa adjusted to life in Peru after moving from Southeast Asia, or how his grandpa on his father's side fought valiantly during WWII, and readjusting to life after that. Myths about the indigenous ancestors on his mother's side. Folktales, anecdotes, all of it.
As he grew older however, it became clear that stories alone weren't enough. No... he needed to experience them for himself. Just his luck when he was rummaging through his dad's old family files that he found something! It was vague, but it was a lead towards something glorious. An old collection that his great great grandmother had hidden away. It was still something, so he went on this wild goose chase. After only a few months of searching however, he finally found it! In pristine condition no less!! As much as he wanted to keep it for himself, he listened to his parents and let them sell it off to some college, in exchange for an entire college fund.
He would go to that same college and take up a major in archaeology... only to come to the realization that it wasn't at all like the movies. It was more mundane, more formal and professional. Still, he powered through it and learned everything he needed. With top grades (not quite valedictorian but still up there) he was offered a special and unique position by the university. He would be their man in the field, bring back special findings and artifacts for them to show off and publish about. His dream job! Sure it had some paperwork attached but it was worth it. And whenever they didn't have anything for him (which was more often than not) he could always venture out into his own passion projects... reaping a percentage of the rewards more often than not.
Which brings us here to Erocity. This city is an enigma of depravity, pleasure, debauchery, and namely, eroticism. It's unnatural, a local hotspot for sex, no matter the mystic or scientific origins of it. It's given rise to quite the number of tall tales about treasures and ancient artifacts, something that Kayden is more than ready to tackle himself.
