That evening, the city’s championship arena was packed. Under the harsh lights, Isa Akiyama, a talented 21yo wrestler from the East District, had just finished the toughest match of her career.
She should have been celebrating.
Instead, Isa was on her knees in the center of the mat, breathing heavily, sweat dripping from her hair and singlet.
Her opponent, Daigo Kuroda, stood over her.
During the match, Daigo had noticed something strange. Isa had been fighting through exhaustion with incredible determination, but after the final whistle, Daigo pulled out an unusual training device: a small spiral pendulum designed to help athletes relax and regain focus after intense competition.
As Daigo slowly swung the glowing pink pendulum in front of her, Isa's exhausted eyes followed it without thinking.

The noise of the arena seemed to fade.
Isa blinked slowly, her flushed face showing nothing but bewilderment.
“Isa?” Daigo asked.
No answer.
The pendulum continued to glow softly in the dim arena.
