After the long trip back home, Sunny feels exhausted, both mentally and physically. So much had happened in the past few hours. She makes sure to take care of Esme, leaving her with Aquarius and Askamandra in the main room as she goes to prepare dinner. While making the meal, she can't help but get lost in the flow of her own thoughts. She feels... betrayed. Concerned. Scared, even. While all these feelings overwhelm her, time passes by, dinner's ready. After sending Aska and Aquarius back home, she sits at the table with her mother. No one utters a word as the two eat silently, Esme staring at her food with a dull face, Sunny's eyes glued to her mother's expression. She does try to enjoy a last meal with her, but it's nearly impossible with her in such conditions. Sighing, she tucks her into bed, planting a kiss on her forehead. After cleaning all the dishes, she goes outside. Standing there for hours. She knew he would come.

*After what had happened prior to the day. The confrontation that left him kicked out from the Shrine. He needed to disappear for awhile and he left no tracks to follow. Being an expert in such, he knew that there would be no possible way for someone to find him right now and he definitely did not want anyone to do so, not yet that is. He needed time for himself, and needed to self-reflect. The massive guilt and regret that was weighing down his mind of what he had done to his lover. After promising that he would not make Esme feel sad or be hurt by anyone, he himself did not expect that he would be the culprit to such. Maybe he truly was the monster that he thought he was. An irrational beast that would not listen to reasoning nor logic. A beast that ran on instinct. That was his true form as a wolf. Perhaps he should just be the beast that he is and just never associate with people. That would reduce the amount of victims. He was truly considering it. But as he had made a promise, and as someone that would never run away from their responsibility. He could not leave Esme like that without a word, not after what he did so he waited for the night wanting to meet her. He did not want to see the others because of what he had done. He was ashamed of himself, and angry with himself. All he wished to do right now was to ask Esme a question. A very simple one.

Sunny's will was truly impressive. After such a long day any other person would have collapsed into bed... but not her. She needed to guard the entrance. Jin was not allowed to meet her mother. She let her anger fuel her will to remain awake. Her body was brought to its limit. The night was passing ever so slowly. And then, after a time that felt eternal, he arrived. Sunny stood back up, or rather, she jumped up from her sitting position, entering a defensive stance. She could see his regretful face, but the words of Quercus echoed in her mind. She needed him to save her mother. Approaching him hastily, so that he didn't get too close to the Shrine, she stood right in front of him. I thought I had made myself clear.

Not expecting that Sunny would wait and stay up this late and seeing that he was found out, there was no need to hide nor escape. He felt that he owed an explanation to especially Sunny. But this didn't make it any less awkward as he let out an awkward laugh that was very unlike him. His eyes looking sad while he laughs. It probably was clear that he was not his usual self. Scratching the back of his head, he would look at Sunny. Ahaha.. You found me out.
He would let out a sigh before saying. Mind letting me meet Esme Sunny?

That wasn't funny. Nothing to laugh of here. Things were serius. With a stern look on her face, she puffed her chest out, crossing her arms on her chest as a clear motion that she wasn't gonna let him proceed any further. My slap wasn't enough? Do I need to punch you to get your brain working? I told you to never come back.
She spitted those words letting out just a tiny portion of what was the immense rage burning inside of her. She would usually be one to feel symphatetic towards a sad or tormented soul. Always ready to help. But he had crossed the line. Therefore, no pity for him. What ELSE do you want from my mother?
She clenched her fists. No. You can't meet her. And... since you're here, I think you have something to do. Or did you come here just for my mother? Do you EVEN care about the OTHER lives you've ruined?

In response to seeing that stern look of hers and how unwilling she was. It wasn't going to be easy as it seemed to him that she had made up her mind about him already. With a loud sigh, his eyes would look serious. It very much hurt to see someone he was friendly with to have such a hateful expression towards him. It was solidifying the idea that he was indeed a monster. After all, he had hurt someone he adored. He was clinging to an answer that he wished to hear from Esme. You've probably made your mind up about me, and what I had done. I probably could not possibly change your mind. But all I wish is to ask Esme but a simple question and depending on her answer. I'll decide something. I'm not here as a hostile being nor here to cause trouble. I know what I've done and it's a guilt I'll have to bear. You may do as you wish with me, but I just want to talk with Esme.

Her hateful expression turned into a frown of pure sadness. Why? Why did he have to hurt her mother? Why did such a thing happen? She felt the rage inside of her quickly twisting and turning into a painful sadness. I have... not...

She screams, beginning to shake, tears quickly forming at the corner of her eyes. All the pressure stored inside of her had led to an explosion of emotions. Stomping again on the ground like a kid that doesn't know how else to show their frustration, she suddenly takes a step forward, grabbing Jin by the collar of his shirt. Pulling him close. Right in front of that frowned face of hers. You want to help? Very well. VERY WELL JIN. But you'll be following MY rules now.

His serious expression does not change even as he watches Sunny's expression change. He remained steadfast and stood still while just looking at her. It hurt to put someone that he enjoyed spending time with into such turmoil, and his heartbeat quickened. But he remained the same. Just looking and listening. The sight of Sunny bursting into tear made him wanna comfort her. But he could no longer do that. No, he was not allowed to anymore. Not after what he had done to her mother. He was the culprit, the guilty one and the one that should be punished for his sins. As he is suddenly grabbed by the short fox. He is left surprised as she felt much bigger than she usually looked. She grits her teeth, choking down each sob tried to come out of her throat. Her hands shaking, her tail stiffened. Her ears pulled back like those of an irritated cat. As soon as she hears his words, she shoots him a wary stare. But then, deciding that he was still needed to solve her mother's condition, she lets him go, taking a step back. Well then. Sunny remains silent until you're done, and even a good while after. She was aware that Jin was a werewolf, but she had never seen his "other self", or well... she thought she did, but the one she was used to was just a cuddly puppy. Not a ferocious beast for sure. She felt her heart skipping a beat, the concern growing inside of her, her fears crawling along her back into the form of shivers. Her stern look from before has completely vanished. She was feeling just... sad. No other emotion in her, even the fear seemed to have disappeared. She couldn't keep her eyes on you for too long, as it was only making her heart ache more. Staring into the shadows projected by the trees, she sighed. I'll tell you what we have found out. But I'm warning you, Jin. One false step. And you're done. For good this time.
She says in a monotone, as if it was only a defensive mechanism to say such words. That was not what she wanted. But if forced, she would've taken action. You're sure about it. We went to a sanctuary into the forest... a library of sorts. There, a treant offered to help us. I'll be short. My mother's problem is in her mind. She's traumatized. That's why she acts like this. And the only solution will need a constant work from me...
she stops briefly, unsure if telling you that you're a key to solve her condition is a good idea. Deciding that it's not wise, in the end. ... He listens to her words quietly, not ever opening his mouth as she explains to him what had occurred during his absence. Not willing to do anything that would render the chances of him being able to talk with Esme. He nods along still having questions about the treant, the mental state of her mother and whether he truly could help or not. But those were just thoughts that he kept to himself, no longer seeing himself as a friend now but a stranger that had hurt her family. There was nothing for him to feel anymore, no heartaches or pain. That was unbefitting for someone like him now. As Sunny finishes her sentence. He says. I will talk with the treant as you wish. She feels slightly better now that you agreed to cooperate. One less problem. She put her trust into that treant, he seemed to be wise and to have actual solutions to the problem. It wouldn't have been easy, but... she was going to do anything for her mother. Even let Jin back into her life, if that would have been the treant's suggestion. All for the well being of Esme. Then, she raises her eyes on him... there's so much she would want to ask him, but the words struggle to come out, her mind tangled in a confusion of feelings and thoughts. In the end, she just says. He would look at her with his yellow eyes that no longer shone. He could not know what was going through Sunny's mind. But one thing he knew is that things would not be the same anymore even if he was let back in. Hence why he had decided on something once he had heard her question to why he was here. She whispers your name, so low that you struggle to hear it. She wished she could turn back time so bad... but that was no time to lose herself in such delusions. Now all that she needed to think about was her mother. And so, a doubt came to mind: would it have been okay to let them meet for the first time in front of the treant? She had witnessed how shameless the woman had become. And she did not want her mother to step over her own dignity in front of anyone else. You can meet her.

She nodded to him. Hoping deep inside that it was the right choice. She couldn't help but feel sad for this man in front of her. After all... she had a similar experience in the past. Unable to hold herself from hurting others, losing control, memories... but the actions remain. And as she was forgiven for her actions, and still loved by the ones she hurt so badly, why shouldn't she have given the same opportunity to him? I... hope... that it wasn't you. I know you. And she gestured to Jin to come along, making her way back into the Shrine. A lonely doll, so long forgotten, rested in the backyard, among the flowers, to collect dust and pieces of lost memories. And as the two approached, the wind gently whispered the tale of two people with a dark side, and the story of the Sun and the Moon.
