"As soon as there's a single sign of trouble, no matter how small it is, we're out there an' ready. These drivers know the risks, but we're aimin' not to have any more deaths to deal with." I pointed at the couple of guards brought along inside the cart with us. "You folks've better got yer trainin' in, 'cause yer gonna need it. These orcs won't just throw themselves at ya. They're a bit stupid otherwise, but when it comes to fightin' they're smart about it. Underestimate 'em, you die." I cast one more glance around at everyone in the cart. "That clear?"

Luna held the pommel of her rapier, clenching her little hand around it. She felt the tension building up progressively as the caravan proceeded. The couple guards gave you a look of understanding and nodded. Um... let's try not to get in unnecessary danger, though.

Then, the distinct wood of wood cracking sounded. The cart lurched to the side, the wheel having broken and fallen off. We were thrown around inside the cart a bit, as a war horn sounded out. It was just like the one back at the cabin, except there were multiple horns being sounded at once. I took a moment to regain my senses before forcing open one of the doors on the side of the cart and pulling out you and the guards. I followed you all out after you had gotten out from the cart, standing tall alongside you as we took in the situation.

Luna flinched, jumping on her seat as the cart was attacked. The sound of that war horn reminded her of the attack at the cabin, but she followed you steadily out of the cart, pulling out her rapier and wielding it against the orcs that were surrounding the cart. The three guards took out their swords and positioned in a formation back against each other, waiting for you to lead them in the fight.

There were at least ten orcs surrounding the cart, all of which stopped in their advances for a moment after seeing the quick bundle of reinforcements spill out from inside the cart. I quickly hefted my axe up, showing my readiness to cleave it down on someone should they step too close. "STEADY NOW! DO NOT STEP ANY CLOSER TO THIS CART, OR WE WILL CUT YOU DOWN." I warned the wave of opposing orcs, before nudging you. I whispered to you quickly, not wanting to be distracted from the orcs for too long. "You got anythin' you wanna say to 'em that you think'll change their minds?"

Your voice roared among the woods, some orcs stepped back, but some others went closer. Luna approached one of them with her rapier, still on high guard. Her gentle voice was like a whisper of the wind, as a very nice perfume started spreading around her. Stop right there!

The orc you had charmed lowered his weapon, turning back to the others for some kind of reassurance. He was met with an axe to the side of the head instead. The orc who had lodged it into his skull stepped forward, gripping the hilt and ripping it out of the corpse. The lady-orc began to speak, turning back to us after returning the axe to her hand.
"Ya fink we're here ta talk with ya's? To mull ova peace terms?" She bellowed out a laugh, a couple of other particularly violent looking orcs joining in along with her.
"Now why in da hell would we do a stupid fing like dat?"

Luna's eyes widened as the orc she had charmed fell before her, laying limp in the dirt. She didn't step back, firing a glance at the lady-orc as she pointed her rapier to her. You don't want to engage war with a military organized city. This could end up now with a peace alliance. You might be strong and nobody is denying that, but we have the numbers, the weapons and the autority. All we ask is that you stop brutalizing the drivers. We'll come along with your requests.
She said, trying once again to charm the lady-orc, as the pleasant smell made its way into her nostrils, blurrying her mind

She began to respond to your words before clutching at her head, the magic conflicting inside her mind. She remained this way for a moment before giving off a brutal shout. "Fuckin' MAGICKS!" She whipped an axe up from her belt before sending it flying forward with a strong throw. She just barely missed your head on account of you dazing her with the magic, but the other orcs behind her roared and began to rush forward. I grit my teeth and hefted my axe up, before letting out a shout of my own. "WATCH THE SIDES, MEET THEIR ATTACK!" I rushed forward into one of the attacking orcs, sidestepping a downward swing with his hammer. I positioned my axe and cleaved upwards, cutting right through the neck of the orc and beheading him. I turned to the rest of them and pointed at the caravan guards. "KEEP FORM, GO!"

Luna immediately jumped in a fighting stance, studying the lady-orc's movements as she approached her fast as a storm. In the meantime the guards switched formation, covering the sides of the caravan and the clanging sound of the swords meeting with axes ringed through the air. It's not too late...!
Luna said before moving to the sides of the lady-orc, ready to strike. The guards started battling with the orcs as a couple of them ignored the bleeding wounds swinging their axes towards them in a blind rage.

The lady-orc quickly straightened herself up, not even bothering to reach for her weapon as she bared her tusks and you and swung a fist out to catch you in the side. I battled with a group of orcs that had crowded me, bashing the heavy axehead into the gut of one orc and then swinging it into the arm of another to cleave it right off. The guards themselves managed to take out one of the orcs before one guard was struck in the side of their armor by a brutal hammer, shattering it and smashing right into their ribs. They fell to the ground, heaving for breath while coughing up blood. One of his ribs pierced his lung, no doubt.

Luna let out a squeak as the fist impacted into her side, her vision going blank for a moment for the pain. The orcs around you kept swinging their weapons and roaring in a furious battle rage. As one of the guards collapsed on the floor, the other two struggled against another orc, one of them managing to strike him into the side, the sword getting stuck into his flesh. The orc grabbed said guard by his neck and with a terrible "CRACK" another one fell to the ground. The last guard took a glance at his two fallen comrades, before trying to run away. Luna took a couple of wobbly steps, before launching herself into the arms of the lady-orc, who grabbed her by the neck. Luna reciprocated the grasp, and from her hands a holy light emanated, burning the skin of the orc and making it rot

The lady orc gasped a final breath as the flesh on her throat turned necrotic, dropping you from her hands and clutching at what used to be her own throat. She fell to the ground, choking on her own rotten flesh. I continued to hack my way through the other orcs, sending limbs, heads, and blood flying as I swung my axe into each orc. I was much more furious by the time I had reached the last orc, to which I swung my axe up into his gut. It stuck into his torso which caused him to roar in pain and clutch at the shaft of the axe. I snarled in response, gripping the handle tight and hefting the orc up into the air with the axe still inside him. I roared, swing him over my head and slamming him down into the ground which only drove the axe in farther. I planted a strong foot on his neck, bracing myself against the orc to rip the axe out of his body in a brutal fashion. I looked around for another orc to fight, only then realizing the fight was over. No more orcs were left standing. I spun around, spattered with blood from the crowd I had torn my way through. I saw you, then saw the lady-orc who had died on the ground from the rot.

I turned to stare daggers at the one who had fled from the fight. "Get the drivers and the cart prepped to head back to the city. You will tell them about your failure when we get there. GO." I quickly spun to tend to you, scooping you into my arms and taking a look at you. "Hey- hey, easy. Shh... yer alright." I held you tight for a moment before hoisting you up in a bridal carry to walk you over to the cart. "You didn't do anythin' wrong, Luna. It's okay, easy now." I kept consoling you until we got to the cart, opening the door and laying you onto a seat on the inside. I gave you a quick kiss before exiting the cart to grab the spare wheel, fitting it over the spot where the other one had broken down. I helped the surviving guard gather our fallen, covering them in a tarp for the time being and laying them where we could fit them on the cart. "Turn us around, back to the city." I demanded of the drivers, before hopping into the cart and taking my place beside you to hold you steady until we arrived into town.

The guard was traumatized, it was obvious he wasn't used to witness such brutality and had not been trained properly for such a fight. He brought the bodies in the back of the cart, before hopping in and sitting in a corner, in silence. Luna in the meantime kept staring at her own hands, the ones that had killed a person. Your words echoed through her head, but she didn't pay too much attention to them, too much focused on what she had done. Ugh...
She leaned in to your chest while the caravan started heading back to the city. The trip was short and full of a sorrowful silence. Luna's breaths were heavy, she closed her eyes feeling the pain on her side extending further. She did try to hide it though, disguising it as sense of guilt for what she had done. She felt like she deserved to feel that pain, the wound that she got was the price to pay for her failure.
